Get cleared to volunteer
LAUSD requires Tier II clearance to volunteer on campus during school hours. Start early since it can take a couple of weeks.
- Apply online
Complete the LAUSD volunteer application at volunteerapp.lausd.net. Returning volunteers can log in and resubmit.
- Complete TB screening
Have the TB screening form completed and stamped by a physician or urgent care clinic. Depending on your answers, a skin test may be required, which means a return visit a few days later.
- Drop off at the front office
Bring your completed form to the Delevan front office. Staff will process it and clear your application.

What does the money pay for?
Funds support 6th grade milestones including Science Camp, culmination, the 6th grade dance and the end of year picnic. Our first priority is lowering the Science Camp cost for every family.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Checks made payable to Delevan Drive Elementary PTA with "6th Grade Fund" on the memo line are tax deductible. For questions about other payment methods, contact the 6th Grade Chair.
How do I get updates?
Join the 6th grade WhatsApp group using the button on the Home tab. Key announcements also go out on ClassDojo and through your room parent.
Do I need clearance to volunteer?
You need LAUSD Tier II clearance to help on campus during school hours. After 2:15 PM, clearance is not required. The steps are on the Get Involved tab.
I want to help but I'm short on time. What can I do?
Small things add up. Donate a case of water for an event, save your recycling, share the Cheddar Up link with relatives or introduce us to a local business.
